About The Position

Sika is searching for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Madison Heights MI. At Sika, the HR Generalist will support a wide variety of Human Resource generalist duties including supporting recruitment, making changes in HRIS, generating reports, employee and labor relations, performance management, training, HRIS systems, and safety.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Must have knowledge of labor laws, wage and hour guidelines, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, and other related Federal and State regulations.
  • Candidate should be detail oriented and have exceptional multi-tasking, organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to hold confidential and sensitive information with the utmost integrity.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications are desired, but not required.
  • Prior experience with an ATS and HRIS desired ( Success Factors/ADP)

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and selection process for open positions. This includes preparation of job requisitions, prepare job postings, participating in Sika hosted job fairs, contact agencies, screen resumes, schedule interviews, assist with day one onboarding tasks such as Benefit review, badges, tours etc
  • Assist in conducting exit interviews and separation paperwork required.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of all employee records, files, and related reports in conformance with all legal and internal company requirements.
  • Ensure performance reviews have been completed. Maintain tracking and Email reminders as needed.
  • Present corporate compliance training programs with hourly associates.
  • Understand implementation, interpretation and administration of established HR policies and programs; assist in keeping employees informed of HR policies.
  • Administers FMLA paperwork and all other leaves of absence, including tracking return from leave for employees.
  • Work with all departments on company culture initiatives, including internal communication, recognition and assist with coordinating company or department events.
  • Stays current on all state, federal, and local employment related legislation and regulations as well as human resources industry trends.
  • Serve as the backup to local payroll administrator.
  • Uses HRIS, payroll, and time keeping programs as necessary.
  • Perform special projects and other assignments as required.
