About The Position

The HR Generalist is responsible for active engagement with the employee lifecycle, focusing on a successful onboarding experience, benefits management, and reporting functions. This role partners with the VP of People Operations and Leadership Team to build a strong employee-based culture and achieve comprehensive People Operations Strategy and initiatives. The Generalist serves as the company’s primary contact for employee questions and employment verification requests, escalating issues as needed. They act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing work-related problems and identifying solutions to enhance retention and foster a positive work culture. Key duties include participating in system testing for new program rollouts, supporting reporting, auditing, and employee & organizational claims and benefits programs. The HR Generalist is an integral member of the HRIS administrative team, managing employee records, Applicant Tracking, and onboarding. Additionally, the role involves participating in recruitment activities at various educational institutions and advising management on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment. The Generalist will also serve on various committees, including Change Management, Safety, Employee Engagement, Training, and Retention, which impact the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience working with employees in a people operation dynamic to include employee recruitment, employee engagement, developing training programs, and an understanding of employee-manager relations

Responsibilities

  • Partners closely with the VP of People Operations, Leadership Team, and management to execute the People Operations Strategy, Processes and Services with a focus on the employee experience.
  • Company’s first point of contact for employee questions and employment verification requests.
  • Escalate issues to other members of the team, as needed.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, helping resolve work related problems, and identifying solutions that increase retention and a positive work culture.
  • Participate in system testing tied to new program, system, or process rollouts.
  • Support with reporting, auditing, and employee & organizational claims and benefits programs.
  • Integral member of the company’s HRIS administrative team to include management of employee records, Applicant Tracking, and onboarding.
  • Participate in regular activities at local, regional, and national schools, as assigned for recruitment.
  • Advise management on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and recommended needed changes.
  • Serve on regular and ad hoc committees to include Change Management, Safety, Employee Engagement, Training, Retention, and other committees that impact the overall experience and life cycle of the organization’s employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
