The HR Generalist supports day to day HR operations while partnering with leadership to ensure consistent, compliant, and people focused practices within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. This role oversees the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll coordination, compliance, and HR process improvement across multiple entities. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource to employees and managers, ensuring accurate payroll, recordkeeping, and operational HR support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience processing payroll and supporting multi-entity operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of Paychex or similar HRIS and payroll systems strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or operational environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and personnel record management
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and filing systems in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Process and support weekly payroll across multiple entities, including commissions and specialty pay, ensuring accuracy in timesheets, PTO tracking, payroll changes, and reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, payroll, benefits, and HR programs
  • Administer benefits and leave programs, including open enrollment, FMLA, ADA, and state leave compliance
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, performance management, and policy interpretation
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws through proper documentation, reporting, and audit support
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes through Paychex, including I-9 verification, system access coordination, and termination processing
  • Support recruitment efforts including job descriptions, resume screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity, generate reports and metrics, and support HR initiatives, audits, and special projects
