About The Position

This position is responsible for the on-site support of the day-to-day Human Resources operations for our manufacturing plant in Denmark, WI. This may include but is not limited to, recruitment, benefits, HRIS, Partner relations, Partner recognition, and policy and procedure administration. Support and lead training programs and ensures ongoing compliance with safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP and USDA regulatory training requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field is normally required.
  • Must possess a minimum of three years of experience supporting and leading coaching and training programs, preferably in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to effectively implement teaching techniques and various multimedia training methods is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health and safety laws, regulations, and standards is required.
  • Knowledge of operational and safety procedures, terminology and GMP practices within the food industry is also required.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player, with a personal commitment to integrity, honesty, respect, quality and reliability. Must enjoy teaching and coaching others and be available to leaders and partners.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and large group situations. Must have the ability to conduct coaching sessions at all levels of the organization, develop and conduct training classes covering a wide variety of topics to a diverse work group, and the ability to establish and maintain confidential and effective working relationships.
  • Must possess advanced computer proficiency, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Must possess basic math skills, with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems using root cause problem solving methods and principles, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the partner is frequently required to sit, stand; walk and talk and hear. The partner is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

  • Previous experience in the processed meat industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive working and engaged environment through multiple channels but not limited to open door communications, safety, performance management, career achievement recognition, company communication tools; maintain a high level of visibility, accessibility and; interaction throughout the company.
  • Ensure high level of integrity is maintained and that personnel matters are handled in a professional, consistent, dignified and; confidential manner.
  • Partnering with HR Team and Operations to understand front line recruitment needs and respond with strategies on recruiting. ;
  • Supporting the HR Recruiter, develop and implement new and creative recruitment methods and avenues to ensure an appropriate applicant flow; develop and maintain a best practices approach to recruiting.
  • Support recruitment including representing and; promoting the company in the community at job fairs, schools and; other events, as needed.
  • Support partner appreciation programs and activities, including Service Recognition Awards, Perfect Attendance, Peer / Partner Recognitions, etc.
  • Assist HR Director and HR Manager updating written materials, including policies, procedures, job descriptions, manuals, training materials, surveys and; forms, and create new materials as needed.
  • Assist HR and Leaders with the compensation and; performance management processes.
  • Assist Compensation and Benefits Specialist with annual benefits Open Enrollment process.
  • Partnering with OD/Trainer to continually seek out new and creative ways to deliver quality hands-on training to all partners and recommend various methods to ensure training initiatives are met; research and recommend alternative training resources to provide the best training for the investment.
  • Partnering with OD/Trainer and Operations to develop and maintain standard training material, including checklists, exams, and methods to observe and determine competencies to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Communicate training requirements to Facilitators and Managers for their respective work teams; work with them to ensure training and refresher training is completed in a timely manner.
  • Support new hire onboarding, paperwork and new hire orientations for direct hires.
  • Support HR team and Safety Manager in Safety related trainings and behaviors as well as communication efforts around Worker's Compensation, OSHA and Safety laws and regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to company GMP policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Provide backup assistance to other HR Director, HR Manager and other HR team members in the event their absence.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
