About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys serving as the trusted advisor for both managers and employees. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and culture across the division by leading day-to-day HR operations that matter most. You’ll ensure processes run smoothly, employee matters are handled thoughtfully and consistently, and managers have the support they need to manage their teams effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years previous HR Generalist experience.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Adapt quickly to change, remain composed under pressure, and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with initiative to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model for ITW Core Values and Leadership Expectations.
  • Independently manage day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with the HR Director.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to managers and employees, championing our culture and promoting a positive, consistent ITW employee experience.
  • Collaborate closely with campus HR team members to drive alignment, share best practices, and ensure consistent application of policies across the organization.
  • Manage recruiting efforts by partnering with managers and the internal Talent Acquisition team.
  • Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a strong foundation for employees.
  • Recommend and coordinate training initiatives to support employee development.
  • Administer the division’s performance review and non-exempt compensation processes, ensuring consistency and internal equity.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters; manage and resolve complex issues, including conducting thorough investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements, reducing organizational risk.
  • Own the division’s Leave of Absence process, including effective return-to-work coordination.
  • Serve as payroll liaison, resolving employee inquiries and ensuring accurate coordination with BU Administration and corporate payroll.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee records in HRIS ensuring data integrity.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
