This HR Generalist role serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, offering guidance to managers on performance, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. The position involves conducting investigations to ensure fair and consistent resolution of workplace issues and leading involuntary terminations with professionalism and compliance. The HR Generalist will coach leaders on best practices in employee management and development, ensuring compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws. Key responsibilities include maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures, overseeing leave of absence programs (such as FMLA, CFRA, and disability), and partnering with legal counsel or external HR consultants on complex matters. The role also involves collaborating with leadership to identify hiring needs and workforce planning strategies, overseeing recruiting processes from job postings to screening, interviews, and offers, and supporting onboarding to ensure a positive employee experience. Additionally, the HR Generalist will work with leadership on compensation alignment and pay practices, oversee benefits administration including open enrollment and employee support, and ensure accuracy of benefit billing and vendor coordination. Maintaining the HRIS (Paylocity preferred) for data accuracy and reporting, tracking and analyzing HR metrics (e.g., turnover, headcount, recruiting activity), and ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality of employee records are also critical. The position supports performance management processes and leadership development, coordinates and/or delivers training on HR-related topics, and leads employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and company events.
