About The Position

WD-40 Company has been around for over 70 years, and our people are a big reason why. This role supports day-to-day HR across the Americas with a primary focus on recruiting — we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys finding and hiring great people. Beyond recruiting, you'll support coaches and employees through the everyday moments that matter: answering questions, solving problems, and making sure HR operations run smoothly. Curiosity and a passion for learning are key. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. This role is based in San Diego, CA and offers the flexibility of working a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of HR experience across multiple functional areas
  • Hands-on recruiting experience for professional-level roles
  • Comfortable working in Workday or a similar HRIS, and open to learning new tools.
  • A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • A graduate degree or HR certifications (PHR/SHRM-CP)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring coaches to understand what their teams need, build sourcing strategies, assess candidates, and keep the process moving.
  • Manage the candidate experience from first contact to offer.
  • Run a thorough onboarding program so new hires feel set up for success.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Workday and keep HR policies, handbooks, and job descriptions up to date.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions on benefits, leave, HR policies, and general workplace matters.
  • Support managers through performance conversations, employee development, and workplace issues with practical guidance and good judgment.
  • Track HR metrics and prepare reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Help plan and run employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives that keep people engaged.
  • Represent WD-40 Company's culture and values in every interaction — with candidates, new hires, and current employees.
  • Handle compliance responsibilities including Affirmative Action planning, wage and hour audits, and OSHA/safety requirements.
  • Stay current on employment law changes across the Americas and collaborate with regional and global HR teams on shared initiatives and projects.

Benefits

  • Our competitive and comprehensive benefits package provides you protection, security, and peace of mind.
  • We offer life-enhancing health, wellness, and financial programs, including profit sharing, annual cash incentive rewards, tuition reimbursement, and 401K match.
  • In addition, we want you to recharge and take time off, so enjoy short-day Fridays, vacation time, paid holidays, and an additional paid week off between Christmas and the new year to spend with family and friends!
