About The Position

The HR Generalist Intern will support the Human Resources team in delivering a wide range of HR services across the organization. This internship provides hands-on experience in recruiting, employee experience, benefits administration, and HR operations within a civil engineering firm. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to gain practical experience in a professional services environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems or applicant tracking systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork and assisting with orientation.
  • Help maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment support and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and company events.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed.
