About The Position

As Gap Factory outlet business evolves, the company focuses on building strong store teams, supporting talent growth, and fostering an engaging, people-first culture. The HR Generalist supports field teams and store leaders by delivering core HR programs and executing people initiatives to contribute to an engaged workforce and strong business performance. This role involves partnering with HR Business Partners, district leaders, and other stakeholders for day-to-day HR operations, employee guidance, and implementing talent and organizational initiatives. Collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Management, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards) ensures consistent and effective HR program delivery, contributing to a positive employee experience and supporting retail talent development and retention across multiple markets.

Requirements

  • Experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role supporting employees and leaders.
  • Foundational knowledge of core HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and HR policies.
  • Proven ability to support HR programs and processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of HR data and reports to identify basic trends and insights.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborative effectively across teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and grow within HR.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to Gap Factory outlet field teams, district managers, and store leaders, offering guidance on policies, processes, and employee-related matters.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to help implement workforce plans and organizational initiatives.
  • Execute HR programs and processes, including performance management, talent reviews, and engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate change initiatives by supporting communication, training, and adoption across store teams.
  • Leverage HR data and reports to identify trends and escalate potential risks or concerns to HR partners.
  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts by supporting action planning based on feedback and continuous listening insights.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Learning teams to support hiring efforts and onboarding experiences.
  • Implement retention strategies while monitoring turnover trends in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Support resolution of employee issues in partnership with Employee Relations, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Align with HR centers of excellence to deliver programs in talent management, total rewards, and employee experience.
