About The Position

The HR/General Affairs Manager is responsible for overseeing all Human Resources, Safety, and General Affairs functions to support Hyundai Steel Georgia’s organizational, operational, and compliance goals. This position leads initiatives in employee relations, staffing, training, performance management, benefits, and workplace safety — ensuring a compliant, professional, and positive work environment. The HR/General Affairs Manager serves as a strategic business partner to leadership, providing guidance on workforce planning, policy enforcement, employee engagement, and OSHA compliance while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and respect.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; a combination of relevant education and equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2–3 years of managing direct reports in a manufacturing or related environment.
  • Skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and/or other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment and safety regulations (EEOC, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA).
  • Experience leading safety programs, conducting incident investigations, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams effectively across diverse functions, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR Specialists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Manage unemployment claims, worker’s compensation, and leave of absence administration in compliance with regulations
  • Advise leadership on coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support departmental and company objectives.
