About The Position

The Regional Director of Human Resources (HR Director) is responsible for leading and executing Visterra Landscape Group’s HR strategy across an assigned region. This role supports multiple branches and operating companies and serves as the senior HR leader for the region, driving consistent HR execution, employee relations, compliance, recruiting outcomes, and leadership development. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring significant travel and an execution-focused mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including multi-site HR leadership
  • 5 years of experience working in a Mergers’s and Acquisition environment. Private equity experience a plus.
  • Proven experience supporting labor-intensive, field-based workforces (landscaping, construction, facilities services, etc.)
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including investigations, corrective action, and performance improvement
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance across multiple states
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior operations leaders and influence decisions without direct authority
  • Prior experience leading and developing HR team members (direct or matrixed)
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR priorities to operational outcomes
  • High professionalism, confidentiality, and strong written documentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50–60% within the assigned region

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior HR leader for an assigned region, supporting multiple branches and operating companies
  • Partner closely with the Regional President and operations leadership to align people strategy with regional business priorities
  • Lead employee relations, investigations, performance management, and termination decisions, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Ensure consistent execution of Visterra HR programs, policies, and leadership expectations across all locations
  • Lead and develop direct reports (HRBP and Regional Recruiter), ensuring accountability for results and responsiveness
  • Drive workforce planning, staffing strategy, and retention efforts for key operational and leadership roles
  • Oversee recruiting execution in partnership with Talent Acquisition, ensuring high-quality hiring decisions and time-to-fill performance
  • Support M&A integration within the region by implementing HR processes, reinforcing culture, and supporting leadership transitions
  • Monitor and act on HR metrics (turnover, staffing, ER trends, engagement), providing insights and solutions to leadership
  • Maintain strong field presence through consistent branch visits (50–60% travel) to coach leaders and solve issues in real time
