Department OverviewMcDonald’s is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead the People function for our McDonald’s Operated Company Restaurants (McOpCo). This role will serve as a key member of the McOpCo cross-functional leadership team, providing strategic HR guidance and operational support across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. The HR Director will be responsible for driving organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and employee engagement, while leading a team of 5 direct reports and 27 indirect reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in HR Business Partner, Talent Management, or Organizational Effectiveness roles.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional HR teams and executing enterprise-wide people strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce and navigating complex employee relations matters.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and drive program adoption.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaborative technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic people plans aligned with McOpCo’s business objectives.
  • Serve as a coach, consultant, and business partner to functional leaders, advising on organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, and talent development.
  • Manage and develop the McOpCo People Team, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting career growth.
  • Identify and address gaps between business needs and HR capabilities, implementing targeted solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Execute core talent planning processes including goal setting, succession planning, performance management, and compensation reviews.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Operations, and other corporate partners to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Provide change management leadership and support the deployment of HR initiatives and policy updates.
  • Prepare executive-level communications, presentations, and workforce analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Lead and manage special projects across the HR function, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
