About The Position

The HR Business Partner plays a pivotal role in leading critical people projects and delivering on the overall HR strategy. This role partners closely with business leaders to support plant and business objectives, ensuring alignment between corporate, regional, and local Human Resources priorities. As part of our connected HR team embedded within the business, the HR Business Partner champions McCain’s Winning Culture and effectively leverages our HR Operating Model — including the Employee Experience Centre and Centres of Expertise. This is an on-site role based at our Potato Processing Plant in Plover, WI.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
  • Proven success developing and executing HR projects in domains such as learning, talent development, and culture.
  • Strong business partnership skills with the ability to influence across levels and functions.
  • Demonstrated agility and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, collaborating to deliver shared business goals and HR strategies.
  • Provide strategic and operational HR support to the business while acting as a trusted advisor to leadership.
  • Lead, develop, and coach direct report(s), setting clear objectives and supporting ongoing development.
  • Partner with leadership and employees to improve engagement, build morale, and increase retention to become the manufacturing employer of choice.
  • Lead the employee engagement survey cycle, develop action plans, and drive implementation.
  • Advise on strategic workforce planning, performance management, change management, rewards, recognition, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Safety to advance health, wellness, and safety culture initiatives.
  • Manage escalated employee relations cases and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, training, and performance development.
  • Oversee staffing strategy in partnership with plant leadership and collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruitment efforts.
  • Plan and facilitate site-level training in collaboration with the Organizational Development team.
  • Analyze HR and business metrics to propose solutions that drive performance and engagement.
  • Lead annual processes including performance management, talent reviews, and compensation cycles.
  • Champion our Thriving Communities pillar through local volunteerism and community engagement.
  • Guide employees to the Employee Experience Centre or appropriate service channels for HR support.
