About The Position

The HR Risk & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering employee benefit programs, overseeing risk-related claims such as workers’ compensation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. This role serves as a key resource for employees, supporting benefit-related inquiries and participating in new hire orientation to explain benefits, including 401(k) plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in benefits administration, workers’ compensation, or HR coordination required.
  • Strong understanding of 401(k) plans and employee benefits.
  • 7+ Years in HR Management position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws related to benefits and risk management.
  • Excellent HRIS management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations of benefits.
  • Determine eligibility for benefits and respond to employee benefit inquiries.
  • Participate in new hire orientation to explain the benefits package, highlighting 401(k) plan participation and options.
  • Coordinate, process, and track workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution.
  • Serve as liaison among employees, management, insurance carriers, and medical providers for all work-related injuries and claims.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting, documentation, and follow-up on all workers’ compensation cases.
  • Review and reconcile payroll deductions for benefits programs.
  • Ensure accurate coordination and processing of benefit-related payroll changes.
  • Manage and process employee time-off requests, including vacation, sick leave, and other accruals.
  • Maintain and update company leave calendars, ensuring accurate tracking of absences and balances.
  • Ensure all benefit programs are compliant with union contracts, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and filings for compliance purposes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions on benefits, leave, and workers’ compensation matters.
  • Communicate benefit changes, updates, and deadlines to employees in a clear and timely manner.
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientation sessions, emphasizing 401(k) participation and enrollment processes.
