We are seeking a HR Assistant Director to join our team. As a key member of the Eau Resort & Spa team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort.  Role Summary: The HR Assistant Director will assist the Director of HR in the leadership and management of all functions of the HR department, in accordance with hotel standards. They will direct, implement and maintain a service and management philosophy, which serves as a guide to respective staff. Acts as a Director of HR in the absence of the Director.   The ideal candidate will exemplify the philosophy and mission of Eau Resort & Spa. We have a full-time position available.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years' experience in Human Resources preferably at a Manager or Director level.
  • Knowledge of government labor regulations.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit processing.
  • Hospitality Human Resources preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests and hotel personnel to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Leaders with documentation and employee relations issues.
  • Assist Leaders with maintaining luxury grooming standards.
  • Constantly monitor Human Resources staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.
  • Tour each department daily; look for safety hazards and check staff adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Handles all aspects of workers compensation.
  • Maintain files on all current laws regarding Human Resources on: O.S.H.A., Workers Comp, I-9, Unemployment, COBRA, E.E.O.C., A.D.A.
  • Develop and maintain current job descriptions for all hotel positions.
  • Identify and use outside recruiting sources, minimizing hotel costs.
  • Authorize the placement of advertisements for job openings.
  • Assist Senior HR recruiter with recruiting, hiring, onboarding needs.
  • Interview all applicants, screening, interview and hiring process for all candidates is carried out in accordance with hotel policy and procedures.
  • Participate in an orientation program for all new hires.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee files.
  • Work with Training Manager to coordinate outside training sources, which address the hotel's training needs.
  • Conduct, monitor, and critique in-house training programs/sessions.
  • Provide feedback to HR staff on their performance, handle disciplinary problems or documentation in employees' files.
  • Complete documentation and monitor billing on employee insurance and C.O.B.R.A., ensuring entitlement of payments.
  • Investigate, complete documentation and coordinate worker's compensation, ensuring entitlement of payments.
  • Investigate and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Coordinate employee requests, ensuring authorized approvals and paperwork on: Leave of Absence/Vacations/Transfers
  • Assist with employee incentive and recognition programs.
  • Contact local organizations and establish "Good Will" projects which the hotel can become involved with to promote positive public relations with the local community.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and hotel records.
  • Attend designated meetings.
