About The Position

This position will focus on data, reporting, and strategic insights to help improve workforce planning and HR processes. The position evaluates the society’s roles, documenting responsibilities, and requirements in job descriptions. Conducts market analysis of roles to determine appropriate positioning of the society’s pay programs. Conducts budget analysis and forecasting. This position also provides specialized support to ensure the integrity and optimization of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data and performs system analysis/maintenance/data entry, produces analytical reports, and end-user training. Completes personnel transactions and maintains associated records. Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws and government reporting actions.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • Experience with compensation program design.
  • Experience with salary and budget analysis.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Experience with human resource information systems (ADP, preferred) with advanced understanding.
  • Familiarity with HR functions, employment and labor laws, policies and procedures are necessary.
  • Individual must be very detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and work effectively under strict time constraints while maintaining accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while being a team player.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion while dealing with complex and sensitive issues is a must.
  • Ability to collaborate, provide technical support, and train staff.
  • Experience in documenting processes, as well as performing diagnostic tests and audits.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts market research and analyzes survey data to develop fair and equitable compensation ranges for each position in alignment with AMS compensation philosophy and pay equity legislation.
  • Evaluates jobs and develops and maintains job descriptions and job architecture.
  • Reviews job descriptions to ensure they accurately capture the essential functions and requirements to assign Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classifications. Updates and maintains the job description library for all employee positions.
  • Reviews company-wide wage budgets. Provides data reports to track compensation spending and forecasting. Creates clear, visually polished, and analytically sound data summaries.
  • Participates in compensation surveys, conducts research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
  • Proactively identify gaps in survey data sources relevant to AMS positions and recommend additional data sources as appropriate.
  • Researches employee compensation in similar industries and recommends changes or updates to AMS’s existing compensation practices, policies, and programs.
  • Analyze workforce demographics; support succession planning and talent pipeline strategies.
  • Tracks information for government reporting, such as EEO-1, and transmits data, annually.
  • Analyze HRIS performance metrics and resolve application issues.
  • Perform audits on HR data, processes, and documents, including hiring and termination.
  • Documenting processes, identifying HR concerns, and compiling data analysis reports.
  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
  • Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives, AMS departments, and HR staff.
  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users. Manages permissions, access, and personalization.
  • Track unemployment claims, manage employment records, verify employment information, and dispute ineligible claims for state leave programs and unemployment.
  • Acts as Department Record Officer to ensure adherence to AMS records retention schedules and prepare terminated employee files for electronic archiving.
  • Submit and track all Worker’s Compensation claims and related compliance requirements.
  • Maintain State & Federal Posters for all AMS locations.
  • Process employment verifications.
  • Maintain annual Conflict of Interest forms.
  • Maintains and updates employee handbook with HR Director as policies and laws change.
  • Maintain HR intranet space with updated information.
  • Serve as employee engagement (G.I.V.E.) Committee Treasurer.
  • Cross training to support various HR functions, within the Human Resources department.
  • Improve HR workflows and automate processes.
  • Update and maintain all procedures associated with position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan, with a focus on recruitment, development, and retention of exceptional staff.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable insights to ensure organizational strength and sustainability.
