As the HP-IH Supervisor at Centrus Energy, you’ll lead a skilled team of Health Physics Technicians to ensure the protection of our people, facilities, and the planet. You’ll blend science, leadership, and safety know-how—monitoring radiation, chemical, and physical agents while guiding your team through meaningful work that supports our mission of fueling a carbon-free future. You’ll lead, mentor, and supervise Health Physics Technicians, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective monitoring of radiation and industrial hygiene conditions across the site. You’ll plan and oversee workplace surveys, analyze environmental data, and recommend corrective actions when hazards are detected. Your expertise will guide experiment planning, equipment selection, and data evaluation to ensure safe and efficient operations. You’ll also play a key role in developing operating procedures, conducting investigations, and providing technical guidance to management—all while upholding Centrus’s culture of safety and excellence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience as a Health Physics Technician or HPT Supervisor (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 2+ years of experience at a uranium facility (enrichment, fuel fabrication, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all HPT task qualifications and maintain them within six months of assignment
  • Successful completion of Health Physics Academic Training, equivalent accredited continuing training (e.g., INPO), or NRRPT registration.
  • Experience supervising teams in regulated nuclear or high-hazard environments.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
