About The Position

The Housing Resource Navigator supports community members with maintaining and/or securing safe and affordable housing. The Housing Resource Navigator will establish trusting relationships with community members and their families while providing culturally competent, linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed support and encouragement. This position will help overcome challenges related to housing security. Activities will include intake assessments, resource and process navigation, advocacy, landlord/tenant mediation, application assistance, and financial coaching.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of positive work history.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy skills.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Some years of higher education preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with electronic health records preferred.
  • Familiarity with community based organizations and like providers of services and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate best practices regarding confidentiality into all job duties and communications in accordance with HIPAA, Trinity policies and procedures, and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage all financial assistance requests, ensuring all required documents are obtained for evaluation.
  • Conduct comprehensive intakes that will drive service delivery.
  • Navigate housing concerns identified by community members including, but not limited to: Housing applications Apartment viewings Department of Social Services Landlord/tenant mediation Section 8 ID/Documentation Utilities
  • Support community members with budget support and coaching.
  • Coordinate services and pool resources with partner housing assistance providers.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in relevant electronic and paper-based platforms.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
