About The Position

The Housing Operations Assistant (HOA) provides strategic support for the management of Colorado Christian University Residence Life housing operations. This position requires a history of supervision and demonstrated expertise in leading and supporting others. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of housing policy issues that influence the growth and development of student residential communities. The role demands efficiency in task prioritization with minimal supervision and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with excellence and discernment. A mature and continually growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ is essential, as is the ability to model spiritual leadership and encourage others in their faith journey. Finally, the candidate should have a deep passion for the collegiate learning environment and a commitment to fostering Christ-centered community development within the residence halls.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of residence hall living and front desk operations.
  • Understanding of the socio-emotional and spiritual needs of college students and act upon such knowledge to foster educational communities for students.
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to solve complex problems independently.
  • Professional poise, sound judgment, and the ability to assess needs and develop positive, effective solutions in alignment with university protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, faculty, and parents via phone, email, video conferencing platforms, and in person.
  • A servant's heart and a teachable spirit.
  • The ability to contribute positively to the dynamics and effectiveness of the Residence Life Team.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain housing assignments and meal plans in StarRez, the University's housing data management program.
  • Regularly process, review, and edit housing and meal plan applications and other Residence Life forms.
  • Hire and supervise student employees for coverage of two residence hall front desks.
  • Assist Residence Life Staff Team in housing operations processes and tasks.
  • Residence Life Office First Point of Contact for guest traffic, phones, and email.
  • Draft and manage external communication from the Department of Residence Life to prospective and current students.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent Residence Life information on CCU website and other relevant platforms.
  • Maintain accurate, consistent information about Residence Life, housing, and dining services across websites, print materials, and as requested by IT, University Communications, and other departments.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in campus life by actively participating in campus functions such as chapel, various student programming opportunities, key student events, and other areas as deemed necessary by the Associate Dean of Residence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Associate Dean of Residence Life.
  • This position offers an individual the option to live-on campus in rotation as an after-hours, on-call presence to oversee housing operations, handle on-call responsibilities, and contribute to after-hours training, events, and meetings during the open and close of each term.
