About The Position

Accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks clients into the shelter: prepares and monitors client intake and maintains resident records. Assists with collecting and entering data into the HMIS database. Distributes towels, linens, etc.,secures and distributes client medications as required. Monitors the activities of the shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with rules, checks the security and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any situations occurring on assigned shift. Opens and closes the shelter at designated hours of operation. Prepares and serves meals to residents and cleans kitchen and dining area. Collects and washes all dirty towels and sheets. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOUEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or G.E.D. One year experience performing security work or working in a social service environment or any euqivalent combination of training and experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of general office procedures and proctices. Ability to communicate effectively with clients in order to lead and motivate behavior. Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors. Ability to work independently and with limited superivison while enforcing established policies and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper procedures. Requirements
