About The Position

This Housing Program Director is responsible for meeting the administrative and operational needs of the program related to their site(s). The Housing Program Director provides daily programmatic support and directly supervises the Overnight Supervisor, Daytime Youth Counselors, and Senior Youth Counselor. They ensure the daily needs of residents, staff, and sites are met by maintaining a physically and psychologically safe and affirming environment.

Requirements

  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to work independently and across teams.
  • Experience working with adolescent/young adult populations, especially within LGBTQ+ and homeless communities.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial needs and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ and homeless youth.
  • Strong leadership skills, previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide empathetic support.
  • Ability to handle crises calmly and effectively, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel between sites.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize online ordering systems for supplies and food.
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation and report writing.
  • Basic knowledge of IT troubleshooting and the ability to submit and follow up on work orders.
  • Familiarity with crisis management tools and de-escalation techniques.

  • Six months to one year of housing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daytime supervisory support and conduct regular supervision with Youth Counselors and Senior Youth Counselor.
  • Conduct weekly supervision with the Overnight Supervisor.
  • Conduct weekly supervision with Daytime Senior Youth Counselors.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly supervision with full-time and part-time daytime staff as needed.
  • Serve as on-call support twice per month as needed.
  • Develop systems to respond to the needs of the site.
  • Manage site staffing needs including recruitment, hiring, and training of Youth Counselors.
  • Monitor site census and coordinate resident bed placements with the Senior Director of Housing.
  • Facilitate and attend weekly staff meetings including Resident Treatment Planning, Resident Clinical Treatment Meetings, Resident Advisory Board, Staff Trainings, Teambuilding, and Team Operation Meetings.
  • Provide follow-up and support post-crisis and emergencies.
  • Oversee monthly audits.
  • Preside over a resident’s Initial Discharge Meeting with housing leadership.
  • Attend resident’s DYCD Discharge Appeal Meeting with program leadership.
  • Develop learning objectives to guide the development of groups and other onsite resident activities.
  • Facilitate day-to-day crisis management and de-escalation among residents.
  • Attend weekly supervision.
