About The Position

NOW HIRING: Housing Coordinator – Homeless Services Location: Chicago, IL Key Responsibilities Assess prospective clients for program eligibility through internal and external referrals Assist homeless households with securing and maintaining safe, compliant housing Coordinate apartment inspections to ensure units meet housing quality standards Support rent renewals and advocate for clients with landlords to resolve housing issues Transport clients to view apartments and assist with obtaining household essentials as needed Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and database documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards Participate in community outreach efforts and Continuum of Care (CoC) initiatives Meet regularly with clients based on program requirements and individual needs Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies What You Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field (required) 1–3 years of experience working in housing services, homeless services, or case management Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment Cultural competency and the ability to work with diverse populations Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and navigate stairs as needed for client visits Proficiency with basic computer systems and case management databases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or a related field (required)
  • 1–3 years of experience working in housing services, homeless services, or case management
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Cultural competency and the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and navigate stairs as needed for client visits
