About The Position

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Clinician II to provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals involved in housing programs. This role supports consumers in achieving stability, wellness, and independence through individualized, consumer-driven services delivered in both office and community-based settings. The Clinician II plays a critical role in assessments, treatment planning, service delivery, and coordination with community and internal partners, particularly those supporting housing stability and substance use recovery. We provide fully integrated care by combining behavioral health care services with community-based primary care centers and are nationally recognized for research, training, and innovation. This full-time position will work Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm at our Madison, IL housing site. The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 an hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ supervised mental health experience; OR a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field with less than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Effective communication with employees, consumers, potential consumers, and support systems.
  • Ability to respond effectively and calmly in conflict or emotional situations.
  • Good keyboarding skills.
  • Data entry experience – preferably with an electronic health record or electronic billing system.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and be insurance

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required documentation (assessments, treatment/recovery plans, progress notes, and funder paperwork) according to program and agency policies.
  • Ensure 100% of assessments and treatment/recovery plans are completed before their due dates.
  • Submit at least 80% of progress notes within 48 hours of providing services.
  • Provide services based on each consumer’s individualized treatment, recovery, or safety plan .
  • Meet assigned productivity expectations .
  • Complete service pre-authorizations and re-authorizations accurately and on time.
  • Conduct screenings for new housing referrals when assigned.
  • Promote a recovery-focused approach , including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, wellness, and connectedness.
  • Use recovery-oriented language in documentation and interactions with consumers.
  • Connect consumers to community resources , especially substance use treatment and housing supports.
  • Collaborate with internal programs and natural support systems to improve outcomes.
  • Attend team meetings, consumer staffings, and program development activities .
  • Support team members and provide backup coverage when needed .
  • Attend and document 100% of required Rule 132 supervision (if not an LPHA).
  • Complete required Chestnut trainings and CEUs .
  • Take on leadership responsibilities as assigned.
  • Use evidence-based practices in individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Provide services in community or natural environments when appropriate.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all consumer and organizational information.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
