JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Housing Coordinator works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of men, women and their children served. This position works closely with clients and community partners, providing advocacy and support toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Chicagoland affordable housing market options a plus.

  • Must be able to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • Possession of valid State Driver’s License and willingness to use personal vehicle in course of employment, including transporting program participants.
  • H.A.S requires all employees to work on-site.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval, is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of work experience working in direct service strongly preferred.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision /support/work schedules to those assigned to Coordinator.
  • Participate in interviews, train and on- board new staff.
  • Conduct biweekly supervision with all staff providing support, case reviews, professional development and recognition.
  • Responsible for supervising monthly QA training submissions.
  • Audit staff charts and ensure all intake and notes are completed correctly and all documents are uploaded correctly.
  • Continuously maintain updates in program plan.
  • Lead biweekly team meeting and provide meeting agenda, notes and attendance and submit to QA.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with finance team for updates.
  • Conduct rental searches to review and approve cost-effective rental agreements.
  • Participate in monthly cohort meetings, represent HAS in a professional manner, and provide updates to leadership.
  • Maintain data tracking through spreadsheets and ECR system.
  • Review and approve mileage and staff expenses.
  • Complete and submit monthly and quarterly reports to development.
  • Review participant concerns and adhere to the grievance protocol.
  • Review and approve staff Timecards and PTO requests.
  • Build and cultivate a positive team culture.
  • Serves as a back-up to staff members and will carry a caseload as directed by supervisor.
  • Supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Actively be the face of the organization in the area of housing resource development.
  • Provides in-home case management such as supportive services, community resource referrals, advocacy, and other social service interventions to the participants.
  • Provides oversite, documentation, highlights of the experience of participants and report on grant deliverables.
  • Creates policies and procedures for the housing program.
  • Oversees all aspects of the housing program and reporting.
  • Travels to provide community-based services to, and on behalf of clients in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Finds sources and creates linkages with the community partners and resources to access housing opportunities for clients.
  • Which includes other community services (food – medical etc.) needed by clients.
  • Participates in various community events and meetings regarding low-income housing and supportive housing options.
  • Cross training as needed.
  • Completes all other duties assigned.
