We are looking for an outgoing and initiative-taking individual to be our Housing Assistant. This position is responsible for completing annual recertifications in compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations. This position is non-supervisory.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Current COS and TIC Specialist certifications.
  • Two-three years of experience as a COS, TIC Specialist, or a similar role, completing annual recertifications in compliance with HUD or LIHTC program requirements.
  • Experience working with Federal Housing Subsidies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Knowledge of Contact Management Systems; CRM entry, Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Complete annual recertifications and interims, ensuring all activities comply with HUD & LIHTC program requirements.
  • Schedule recertification interviews with residents, collecting and verifying necessary documentation for annual certifications and recertifications.
  • Ensure timely completion of all occupancy-related tasks, adhering to strict deadlines and guidelines.
  • Maintain confidential tenant files, ensuring they meet HUD & LIHTC standards.
  • Assist with the resolution of findings from Management and Occupancy Reviews (MOR) and OHFA Reviews, ensuring any deficiencies are addressed promptly.
  • Collaborates with other McGregor service lines when applicable.
  • Exhibit 2-3 years of experience in the job.
