About The Position

This position is responsible for the set-up, breakdown, and storage of tables, chairs, etc. for functions and events by the deadline. This position is also responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of all areas used by guests.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a club, banquet, facility, or hotel.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write clearly in English.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team member.
  • Must have good interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work the hours needed including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Dependably come to scheduled work shift in a positive state of mind meeting dress and grooming standards for a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to: continuously move about the facility and grasp with hand/eye coordination for setups; frequently position one's self while setting up events and; frequently move items such as tables, chairs, and stacked chairs weighing up 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to: occasionally move about on wet, slippery surfaces and occasionally work in room with loud music.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down tables, chairs, and buffet areas utilizing proper ergonomics and according to the BEOs before and after events including ceremonies.
  • Store tables, chairs, etc. in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Clean the associated areas of the building including restrooms before, during, and after the events to ensure that every guest experiences a clean environment for their event.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area to prevent food borne illness.
  • Open, close, and secure banquet areas as needed.
  • Notify Banquet Captain of any damage to tables, chairs, etc. as needed.
  • Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  • Follow the Wheaton Park District and Arrowhead policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
