About The Position

Responsibilities include managing all room assignments in an effective and efficient manner. This position ensures cleanliness in all of our guest rooms is met and exceeded. The fast pace of a houseperson requires organization skills and knowledge of housekeeping operations. One must be able to multitask and handle repetitive work on a day to day basis. Essential Job Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be highly responsible and reliable. Responsible for the handling of the clean and soiled guest room linen and trash. Shampoo carpets, clean furniture, and other items. Stock and prepare carts for room attendants. Move furniture, mattresses, box springs, mini-refrigerators, and beds. Report needed repairs or unsafe condition of room to supervisor. Keep linen room locked; linen cart neat and organized to standards. Maintain security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day. Respond to housekeeping requests from guests or management in a timely, efficient manner. Report lost and found articles to supervisor. Perform inventory management in linen stock rooms and restrooms. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be highly responsible and reliable
  • Have the ability to connect with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner
  • One should have a sense of urgency
  • Have the ability to complete work accurately and in accordance with company standards
  • One should have a faster than average work pace
  • Possess strong oral communication skills
  • One must be available for the demands of the business including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area among the guest floors

Nice To Haves

  • High School or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred
