About The Position

The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with the standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the Medical Center objectives.

Requirements

Successful completion of general and department-specific orientation

Previous Hospital housekeeping preferred

Responsibilities

Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
Cleans housekeeping closet and maintains par levels
Collects and transport all waste, including RMW, according to policy
Compacts trash or places in containers
Damp buffs and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
Dry and wet mops floors of rooms and offices
Dust mops and wet mops corridor, stairwells and other common areas
Empties waste receptacles and removes trash
Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed
Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
Performs patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
Refills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
Patient Ready Room: All patient rooms must be Patient ready at all times. Tent card must be in every patient room. Toilet seat band must be on everytoilet. Privacy curtains must be in every patient room
