About The Position

Inspects and maintains the cleanliness and physical condition of the hotel guest rooms, hallways, and public areas. Serves as the supervisor for various positions within the department. Controls and covers the housekeeping department during the manager's days off.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and principles.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, especially word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior guest service skills.
  • Ability to interact with hotel’s guests in a friendly, positive manner.
  • Ability to provide leadership and develop team members.

  • Ability to bend, squat, push and pull.
  • Two (2) years hotel housekeeping experience.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, especially word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed. Must have flexible availability for coverage.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Three (3) years housekeeping experience including two (2) years in a supervisor role in a housekeeping department.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Assists management in directing the work activities of housekeeping staff. Assigns daily tasks, monitors daily progress, and closes the day’s activities.
  • Inspects rooms to ensure adherence to established standards. Flags any inconsistencies and coaches’ staff on any areas that do not meet hotel standards.
  • Monitors and updates progress on the hotel PMS and advices management of any possible delays or rooms, which may require additional attention.
  • Addresses guest complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment.
  • Completes inventory of supplies and equipment; submits orders for supplies.
  • Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels; schedules staff to ensure an adequate number are available to serve each event.
  • Supervises and develops direct reports by mentoring, coaching, and providing performance feedback; works collaboratively with them to design professional development plans that support their continuous learning.
  • Assigns decision-making and work functions in an appropriate manner to maximize effectiveness; communicates clearly the parameters of the delegated responsibility and required actions, constraints or deadlines.
  • Interviews, recommends hires, writes and issues performance appraisals, resolves problems, provides open communication, and recommends corrective action and/or termination, when appropriate.
  • Conducts or provides training programs; ensures all team members receive on-going training.
  • Develops the talents and skills of team members as measured by guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction, and successful team member advancement.
  • Develops a ‘team” atmosphere with team members and takes a pro-active leadership role.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
