Housekeeping Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY The Housekeeping Supervisor helps create a joyful and vibrant community by overseeing all housekeeping operations including hiring, training, and supervising housekeeping staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Supports dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents. Supervises the day-to-day housekeeping functions of assigned personnel. Must have high standards of cleanliness, have the ability to work within the budgetary guidelines, and be able to develop staff to do the job. Assigns personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments. Coordinates daily housekeeping services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas. Ensures that personnel are performing assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures. Ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner. Ensures that housekeeping personnel follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Ensures that established Infection Control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures. Performs housekeeping tasks, as required by community policies and procedures and standard of excellence. Must be capable of operating and maintaining all housekeeping/laundry equipment (i.e., commercial washer/dryer, buffing machines etc.). Knowledge of applicable state regulations. Experience with management and budgeting. Demonstrates knowledge of Infection Control, Hazardous Waste, Disaster Plan, etc. Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations. Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties. Performs other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION A high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations. Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. Ability to positively and appropriately communicate with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees. Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of position. Available for on-call emergencies. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations. Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision) Maintains current Food Handlers card PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
