About The Position

Housekeeping Supervisor-Full time Temporary The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for full time temporary, Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets. The role of the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting the cleanliness and the appearance of guest accommodations and public areas and ensure that all cleaning personnel fulfill their assignments in accordance with established standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of cleaning experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend and carry out simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • A successful track record of managing a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
  • Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
  • Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
  • Must be reliable, adaptable and dependable.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of cleaning experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise cleaning personnel and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the hotel's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assign work assignments, set expectations, monitor activity and correct any deficiencies as needed.
  • Assist with training the Housekeeping staff.
  • Assist in promptly resolving any guest complaints pertaining to housekeeping services.
  • Advise maintenance of any needed repairs in all guest rooms and public space.
  • Approve rooms for occupancy and ensures room is in acceptable condition prior to placing it into the system.
  • Inspect housekeeping carts daily and ensure all hotel policies and standards have been met.
