About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Manager in ensuring all guest rooms and public spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role provides hands-on leadership to the housekeeping team, helping to train, motivate, clean and inspect work for quality and consistency. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in upholding property standards, supporting efficient operations, and delivering exceptional guest experience. Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years housekeeping experience, including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain quality under pressure.
  • Proficient in using cleaning equipment and basic technology (e.g., task tracking or scheduling systems).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping department. Follows all appropriate policies and procedures (e.g., key control, lost and found).
  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations, ensuring rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness and service standards.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces for quality, maintenance issues, and guest readiness; follow up on corrections as needed.
  • Maintain house inventory and inform the Front Desk of any missing or broken items in guest rooms that need to be charged to the guest.
  • Perform cleaning duties of roles within the Housekeeping department as needed, including during high occupancy or staffing shortages.
  • Assist in scheduling, training, and supporting Housekeeping team members.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper use of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of staff to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Monitor productivity and assign daily room and task lists—including common areas and laundry—based on occupancy and staffing levels.
  • Assist with guest requests and respond promptly to service issues or concerns.
  • Participate in large cleaning projects as required.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, particularly Maintenance and Front Desk, to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Ensure all Housekeeping team members follow safety, sanitation, and property procedures.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and departmental training sessions.
  • Lead daily Housekeeping stand-ups in the Housekeeping Manager’s absence.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals.
