POSITION OBJECTIVE To achieve and assist in running the daily operations of the housekeeping department while exceeding guest service expectations and Forbes Standards of service.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Housekeeping in a Hotel environment 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and colleagues and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
  • Must be able to stay calm under pressure 
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
  • Must be flexible in the hours that they can work.
  • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to see differences in widths and length of lines such as those on graphs. Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Opera, Adaco, Ontrack, ADP and HOTSOS preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Answers calls following Forbes Standards and reply to emails in a timely manner 
  • Responsible for assigning rooms to Room Attendants according to guest arrivals and departures in accordance with the Union agreement 
  • Run traces report throughout the day and ensure all traces are completed before guest arrival
  • Expediting guest requests and working closely with other departments to meet guest needs and amenities
  • Organizing track logs and communication within the department
  • Assist management with schedule and administrative tasks using ADP, ADACO and Ontrack
  • Maintains organization within the housekeeping department
  • Maintain a positive working environment with service professionals
  • Assists with the carrying out office inventory for equipment and supplies
  • Ensure proper communication with the room attendant to make sure services and arrivals are done in a timely manner.
  • Manage Room Attendant’s boards throughout the shift:
  • Closely monitor DNDs and ensure they are swapped in a timely manner
  • Following up with the guests
  • Closely monitor room moves
  • Walk departures and ensure all guests are checked out in the system
  • Opening and closing the department 
  • Assisting the department upon reasonable requests
