About The Position

The YMCA of Eastern Delaware County is looking for a motivated candidate who is experienced in Housekeeping and Maintenance. We have several shifts open. POSITION SUMMARY Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum age of 16.
Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
Completion of required trainings.

Responsibilities

Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.
Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
Sets up furniture/equipment according to daily schedule for events.
Performs duties with Housekeeper/Custodian II or higher.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
