About The Position

Responsible for ensuring that the housekeeping staff cleans and maintains guest rooms and public spaces in accordance to hotel, brand and company standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback and guidance
  • Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and other required systems
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical safety
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality or housekeeping is a plus
  • 6+ months of Housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel environment
  • Proven experience in housekeeping, with a focus on quality inspection
  • The ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual.
  • The ability to work various schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business operations dictates
  • The ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form).
  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • The ability to perform several tasks at once.
  • The ability to follow directions or instruction.
  • The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
  • The ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • The ability to sit/stand/bend/stretch, etc.
  • The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with the hands and arms

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Housekeeping staff.
  • Visually inspect guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Train new and current employees on the use of chemicals for different surfaces.
  • Ensure that both carts and supply closets are kept clean, neat, and stocked according to housekeeping guidelines.
  • Assist in the scheduling of staff according to forecasted occupancy.
  • Guide staff to ensure that guest service and safety is our top priority.
  • Report all deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors to the maintenance department.
  • Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc., make recommendations and assist in the coordinating of rehab projects.
  • Assist room attendants and house persons in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs and be ready to step in and support them as needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintain security of keys.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, such as Front Desk and Maintenance departments.
  • Fill in and support employees as needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management.
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Director of Housekeeping.
