About The Position

The position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas, including offices, building facilities, and other residential spaces associated with a business unit for Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). This includes daily cleaning tasks and detail projects within residential areas. During summer months, assignments and buildings may change frequently. The role requires daily communication with a housekeeping supervisor to report issues, student concerns, building/furniture problems, or supply needs. The individual must also report maintenance issues to the Residential Life Center or Facilities customer service, report suspicious persons to Campus Police, and adhere to WashU's rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) driver's license and a good driving record are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Clean assigned areas including entryways, entry lounges, restrooms, stairwells, hallways, floor lounges, study rooms, laundry areas, student suite bathrooms, and vacuum student suite living rooms.
  • Perform detail projects within residential areas as assigned.
  • Communicate daily with the housekeeping supervisor regarding assignment issues, student-related concerns, building or furniture issues, or the need for supplies and equipment.
  • Report all observed maintenance issues within resident areas by contacting the Residential Life Center or Facilities customer service.
  • Report any suspicious persons to Campus Police.
  • Follow the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
