About The Position

The Housekeeper position involves providing exemplary service to members and prospective members, demonstrating good human relation skills, and helping to maintain the building and grounds. This includes cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas such as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. The role may also involve duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. The Housekeeper ensures the Y is attractive and clean by completing daily scheduled duties and maintaining assigned areas and equipment. This includes performing wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning. The position requires operating related motorized and non-motorized equipment and includes light repairs such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and painting. The Housekeeper is responsible for recording and reporting all needed repairs and performing repairs as directed. They must ensure the YMCA building and property are secure during their shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor. Setting up furniture for events is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
  • Abides by all YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards
