The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas and amenities. This role involves cleaning public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas. Housekeepers perform all housekeeping duties such as distributing laundered articles and linens, changing beds, cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, dusting furniture and equipment, and washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills. Additionally, the role includes all laundry duties like washing and drying resident laundry and textiles, folding/hanging laundry, and maintaining resident laundry areas. Housekeepers also wash windows at reasonable heights, keep utility and storage rooms clean, disinfect equipment, stock cleaning carts, empty wastebaskets, and work with maintenance to ensure clean trash and dumpster areas. They are expected to request maintenance work orders, report resident issues or changes in health/living status, and report unsafe conditions to their Supervisor.
