About The Position
This position is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping duties in a shelter setting to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This includes cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, as well as collecting, washing, storing, and distributing linens. The role ensures the overall neatness and cleanliness of the shelter on a daily basis and supports general facility upkeep.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Six months to one year experience performing general housekeeping duties, preferably in a shelter, residential, or institutional setting.
- OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and sanitary living spaces
- Perform laundry and linen management
- Ensure facility upkeep and safety
- Monitor and report maintenance needs
- Support overall shelter operations
