About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the center to support health and prevent the spread of infection. This includes following established cleaning schedules across all areas, performing duties outside of child care hours, and completing additional tasks such as basic maintenance, laundry, and supply management as needed, under the supervision of center leadership.

Requirements

Custodial/Housekeeper experience and high school diploma/GED is preferred.
Knowledge of proper cleaning methods required.
Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors and other personnel
Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
Performs routine cleaning tasks, including waste removal, disinfecting restrooms, and sanitizing surfaces
Cleans and maintains floors, windows, carpets, and common areas
Restocks essential supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper
Completes basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs
Monitors and reports health, safety, and maintenance concerns to leadership
Assists with emergency preparedness by participating in drills and safety activities
Attends and participates in required trainings and staff development sessions
Ability to maintain assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition
