About The Position

Join Our Team at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant! We’re currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday with every other weekend. The Housekeeper is responsible for performing daily housekeeping duties to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required.
Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively.
Requires the ability to stand, walk, turn, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the day, often within confined areas.
Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds using safe handling practices.
Must demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas such as offices, lounges, elevators, and dining spaces.
Empty trash, dust surfaces, vacuum carpets and hallways, mop floors, and sanitize frequently touched items (e.g., tables, chairs, ledges, thermostats, fire extinguishers).
Clean specialized areas including bathing facilities, soiled utility rooms, isolation rooms, and discharge rooms.
Assist with room turnover cleanings and prepare guest rooms, cottages, and community center areas as scheduled.
Provide support to Independent Living and Residential Living housekeeping teams as needed, including weekend and relief coverage.
Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other tools safely and effectively.
Participate in all mandatory in-services and attend optional training sessions as directed by the Supervisor.
Must follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
