About The Position

Join Our Team at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant! We’re currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday with every other weekend. The Housekeeper is responsible for performing daily housekeeping duties to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required.
  • Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, turn, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the day, often within confined areas.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds using safe handling practices.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
  • Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas such as offices, lounges, elevators, and dining spaces.
  • Empty trash, dust surfaces, vacuum carpets and hallways, mop floors, and sanitize frequently touched items (e.g., tables, chairs, ledges, thermostats, fire extinguishers).
  • Clean specialized areas including bathing facilities, soiled utility rooms, isolation rooms, and discharge rooms.
  • Assist with room turnover cleanings and prepare guest rooms, cottages, and community center areas as scheduled.
  • Provide support to Independent Living and Residential Living housekeeping teams as needed, including weekend and relief coverage.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other tools safely and effectively.
  • Participate in all mandatory in-services and attend optional training sessions as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Must follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
