About The Position

Responsible for the cleanliness of Holy Family Villa. Ensure that residents' suites and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Common areas are cleaned on a regular schedule, including the porches and patio. Responsible for laundry of residents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to demonstrate skill and knowledge in performing assigned duties, use of prescribed cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment, and use them efficiently.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, cleaning instructions.
  • Speak and read the English language understandably.
  • Thorough, dependable, and meet physical requirements for lifting and climbing.
  • Function independently, and have personal integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with other personnel.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to meet the requirements of this position.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies throughout the workday.
  • Good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent staff and resident information to ensure resident rights are protected.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition in the assigned area following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
  • Dust horizontal surfaces that collect dust.
  • Empty waste baskets, remove trash, and clean containers.
  • Damp wipe to clean all furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish metal, and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms and other assigned areas.
  • Dry and wet mop floors of suite bathrooms, hallways, and offices.
  • Clean walls, and windows (interior), clean vents, and polish metal surfaces.
  • Replenish room and bathroom supplies.
  • Vacuum, shampoo and spot clean carpets as assigned.
  • Move furniture (with assistance as necessary) and arrange rooms.
  • Scrub to remove all soil and finish to base floor material, refinish to a glossy appearance.
  • Maintain resident room refrigerators (defrosting/cleaning).
  • Clean or assist in cleaning emergency spills and patient accidents observed or upon request.
  • Follow universal precautions, standard safety practices, and use common sense in all aspects of work completion.
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleaning and safety.
  • Report any needed repairs of equipment, furniture, and fixtures immediately to the supervisor (leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, beds needing repair, etc.).
  • Monitor supplies and inform the supervisor when it is necessary to reorder.
  • Perform assigned duties in the event of disaster preparedness or drill.
  • Attend in-services, staff meetings, educational classes, and on-the-job training programs as scheduled.
  • Laundry tasks include but are not limited to washing, drying, ironing and folding linens and personal items of residents.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of altar linens and vestments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
