CentraState Medical Center currently has an employment opportunity available for a Housekeeper. This role is responsible for performing cleaning duties and related services throughout both patient and non-patient areas, helping to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across the facility. Overnight Shift schedule: 11pm-7am
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to understand oral/written instructions in English.
Responsibilities
- Effectively performs a variety of housekeeping functions including mopping, dusting, sanitizing, wiping, scrubbing, buffing, and other manual jobs on floors, walls, beds, furniture, fixtures etc.
- Operates floor-cleaning machinery to maintain hard flooring and carpets.
- Collects and disposes of regular and medical wastes at loading dock.
- Replenishes soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other supplies as needed.
- Maintains housekeeping cart and equipment.
- Hangs drapes and curtains and moves furniture as necessary.
- Assembles set ups as requested by departments.
- Distributes clean linen and collects and stores dirty linen for pick up.
- Responsible for disinfecting and cleaning the following spaces to include, but not limited to: Public Waiting Areas Cafeteria/Kitchen Settings Personal offices and cubicle spaces Outpatient Services Departmental Cleaning (Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory, etc) Bathrooms
- Performs patient/resident room cleaning and discharge cleaning, including those areas contaminated or potentially contaminated with an emerging viral pathogen.
- Performs terminal cleanings in Operating Room (OR) suites
- Cleans and disinfects designated supply areas and scrub areas.
- Adheres to Infection Control and departmental guidelines.
- Completes assignments in timely manner and utilizes time effectively.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
