The role guarantees 35 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday from 2 PM to 7 PM, with one late night extending to 9:30 PM, and Fridays from 2 PM to 6 PM. The hourly rate is between $30 and $32. The position involves caring for two children, aged 3 and 7. The primary focus of the role is to manage the afternoon and evening household rhythm, seamlessly blending childcare, household coordination, and maintaining a calm, capable presence. The daily routine begins around 2:00 PM, allowing time for essential preparations such as dinner prep for the children, kitchen reset, and children's laundry, ensuring a smooth transition before school pickup. Following pickup, the nanny will guide the children through activities, homework, dinner, bath, and bedtime routines. Flexibility is required for one late evening per week, usually extending until 9:30 PM, particularly when both parents are traveling. These evenings offer the nanny the opportunity to fully manage the household from start to finish. The family's schedule, while well-communicated, can vary slightly due to frequent parental trips to NYC and consistent work-from-home days.
