Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support) Location: Hyde Park, NY 12538 Employment Type: Part-time (10-15 hours/week) Proposed Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $25–30/hour, based on experience Requirements: Maintain a smoke-free environment Pass background check Have reliable transportation; family will reimburse for any mileage used while running errands Up-to-date vaccinations required (TDAP, MMR); COVID and flu preferred Comfortable with and have an appreciation for dogs, working alongside a loving 32-pound miniature Australian Shepherd Proposed Schedule: Flexible hours, 3 days per week, 4-5 hours per day, primarily during the day, before 6 pm. About Our Family: We are a loving and busy husband and wife and our 32-pound miniature Australian Shepherd, who live in Hyde Park, NY. One of us owns a successful consulting agency, while the other works in NYC and commutes 3-4 days a week. While our professional lives keep us both quite busy, we have plans to expand our family in the near future, and we’re looking for someone who can grow with us. Currently, the demands of managing both a household and our professional responsibilities often fall on one person during the week. This can make it challenging to maintain balance and keep everything running smoothly. That’s why we’re seeking someone who is proactive, trustworthy, and detail-oriented to help with the daily routines, ensuring the home is organized, tasks are completed, and that we can focus on the things that matter most. We're looking for someone who will not only support us in the present but also grow alongside our family as it expands. Responsibilities

  • Meal Planning & Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy meals for the week, focusing on balanced, macro-friendly options. One of us follows a primarily vegetarian/pescatarian diet, while the other enjoys a wider variety of foods. Batch cook 5 days of breakfast, 5 days of lunch, and 2-3 dinner options. Shop for groceries and meal prep items and restock pantry and fridge as needed. Clean the kitchen post-prep to ensure tidiness and organization.
  • Household Management & Organization: Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry) Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure the house is prepped for monthly cleaning services Oversee household schedules and calendars - coordinate with dog walker, cleaner, handyman, be on site to handle. Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers) Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
  • Deep Cleaning & Special Projects: Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.) Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom) Organize the garage - including researching and setting up storage systems Transition items from the garage to the basement storage room Maintain and organize the shed/garage/basement storage areas Assist with miscellaneous tasks, such as replacing frames or hanging items on the walls Support home office organization, including proposing and implementing storage solutions
  • Pet Care: Feed and walk the dog, and coordinate daily supplemental walks in the mornings or as needed Schedule grooming appointments Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
  • Inventory Management & Errands: Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies Create and manage running household supply lists Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.) Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning - weekly), gift shopping Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries
  • Vehicle Management: Schedule and oversee routine maintenance, oil changes, and inspections for both family vehicles Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized - car wash on occasion and deep cleaning of the interior Track registration, insurance, and service schedules
  • Vendor & Property Oversight: Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers, snow removal) Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes Monitor and maintain outdoor spaces, including bi-weekly hot tub upkeep and seasonal maintenance
  • Laundry & Ironing: Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels) Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies Handle special care for delicates
  • Administrative & Personal Assistant Support: Assist with travel planning, including booking flights, scheduling, and logistics Manage family calendars and ensure reminders for important health appointments Coordinate events, appointments, and preparations for guest visits
