About The Position

Pittsburgh, PA | Shadyside Household manager/After-school nanny Start Date: March 1st, but flexible for the right fit Hours: Monday–Thursday, 2–9 pm; Friday, 2 pm – 6 pm; 30 hours/week guaranteed Hourly Rate: $30-40/hr Children: Ages 14, 11, and 9 Pets: 2 hypoallergenic dogs Paid Vacation: 1 week paid family’s choice, 1 week paid Nanny’s choice, all major holidays, 3 sick or personal days Responsibilities and Duties WHO/WHAT: Are you the kind of professional who thrives in a beautiful, fast-moving household where every day is different, and calendars are full? Do you love working with big kids, keeping life organized, and being the calm, capable adult who helps everything run smoothly behind the scenes? This polished, high-performing Shadyside family is seeking an exceptional Household Manager / After-School Nanny to become a long-term anchor in their home. With three bright, active daughters and two very demanding careers, these parents are looking for a seasoned professional who can step in with confidence, anticipate needs, and keep the family’s busy life flowing effortlessly. This is a true 50/50 hybrid role — part trusted childcare partner, part household operations pro. Your afternoons will begin with after-school pickup and transition support: helping the girls reset after the school day, stay on top of homework, prepare for activities, and move smoothly through the evening routine. These are social, athletic, creative kids who love staying busy — from gymnastics, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, dance, musical theater, skiing, and swimming — and they need a strong, positive leader who can keep them on task while meeting them where they are. You’ll be the steady presence who keeps everyone moving forward: managing schedules, coordinating activities, tracking school emails, handling sign-ups and payments, and planning weeks (and seasons) well in advance. You’ll be the person who knows when cleats need replacing, when camp forms are due, and whether Tuesday’s practice conflicts with another kiddo’s rehearsal. On the household management side, this is a white-glove home with a full support team already in place — regular housecleaners and a dedicated laundry professional. Your role is not deep cleaning, but day-to-day operations: keeping spaces tidy and organized, straightening the girls’ rooms daily, resetting the kitchen, managing household inventory, organizing closets, rotating clothes, cleaning out the fridge and pantry, breaking down boxes, and helping implement systems that keep everything running beautifully. Very infrequent overnights with the girls (about once per quarter) may be needed. This is a dynamic, high-energy home — and they’re looking for someone who can match that pace with grace, warmth, and confidence. THE IDEAL NANNY IS… Polished, proactive, and wonderfully capable. You are a true professional who knows how to run a household, manage a calendar, and support growing kids with equal confidence. You don’t wait to be told what needs to be done — you see it, plan it, and execute it. You’re flexible, adaptable, and quick on your feet. You love organization, color-coded calendars, and thinking three steps ahead. You communicate clearly, take feedback well, and understand how to work within a strong, high-performing family dynamic. You’re warm, fun, and genuinely enjoy this stage of childhood. You know how to connect with impressionable preteens and teens, care about their interests, and guide them with patience, kindness, and common sense. You’re comfortable delegating age-appropriate chores and helping them grow into capable young people. Most importantly, you take pride in your work. You show up on time, keep your word, and bring calm leadership into a busy home. You understand that when a household runs well, parents get to be more present with their kids — and that’s something you’re proud to support. This is a rare opportunity to step into a long-term, career-defining role with a wonderful family who values professionalism, loyalty, and heart. If you’re ready to become an indispensable part of a beautiful, bustling household for the next 5+ years — apply today.
