The House Nursing Supervisor is responsible to the nurse manager of support services manages coordination of patient care services hospital wide. House Nursing Supervisors advocate for and allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards and practice. They promote shared decision-making and professional autonomy by providing input, their own and that of their staff. House Nursing Supervisors coordinate activities between defined areas and provide clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. They facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others. House Nursing Supervisors serve as a link between nursing personnel and other healthcare disciplines and workers throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. House Nursing Supervisors have responsibility for exhibiting and supporting implementation the vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidence-based practice, and standards of the organization, and nursing services hospital wide. House Nursing Supervisors are accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced, in that they contribute to the day-to-day operations, standards of care, and attainment of goals of the organization. House Nursing Supervisors collaborate with the nurse managers, nursing directors, and others in organizational innovation, implementation, and evaluation. Customer service is valued by the House Nursing Supervisor as evidenced by: 1) being courteous to our customers, which include patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and fellow employees, 2) introducing self by name and job title when speaking in person or by telephone to patients, their families and others, 3) demonstration of honesty, discretion in conduct, and confidentiality in conversation in all of work environment. The House Nursing Supervisor follows standards of conduct and procedures of hospital and applicable laws and regulations and report violations through appropriate chain of command. The House Nursing Supervisor reports safety concerns and hazardous conditions in a timely and appropriate manner.
