We are a busy family living in Brookline. Our household includes a high schooler with a demanding extracurricular schedule, two adults managing day-to-day responsibilities, and a property in Florida that we also keep up with. One of us is blind, which adds a unique element to our routine, but we’ve built systems that work for us and help everything run smoothly. Our family has a calm, laid-back energy, and everyone is easygoing and flexible, which makes for a warm and welcoming home environment. Our daughter is enrolled in an intensive dance program in Brighton and spends up to 4-5 afternoons and evenings per week at her dance studio, while also volunteering several hours per month at a nonprofit in the East Fenway/Northeastern University neighborhood of Boston. With so much going on, the day-to-day responsibilities—driving our daughter to and from dance classes, rehearsals, competitions and volunteer hours, managing household tasks, supporting extended family, and organizing everything—are typically handled mostly by one parent while the other works full-time. We’re hoping to find someone who can step in and help with some of these tasks, especially the driving and household responsibilities. The goal is to ease the mental load and help create more space for us to focus on what matters most, while making sure we get to spend more quality time together. We’re looking for someone who can help make our busy lives a little easier while blending into our warm, family-oriented dynamic. We are seeking a warm, adaptable, and self-directed individual who brings a positive and proactive attitude to the role. You should be comfortable working in a household with a blind adult and a teenage daughter. The ideal candidate will take an interest in our daughter, create a welcoming environment, and help her feel supported in her daily activities. You should be open-minded, curious, and willing to learn how to best support a blind individual. You’ll be someone who is organized and able to manage tasks independently, taking the initiative when needed. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, especially when juggling multiple responsibilities. You’ll be expected to drive our daughter to and from dance 1-2 afternoons/evenings a week and assist with various household tasks, such as errands, scheduling, and overseeing the home while we are away. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and can handle high-pressure situations with a calm, steady energy. Your strong communication skills and ability to anticipate needs will make you a trusted, integral part of the family, helping us maintain balance. Your independence and positive energy will make you a valued member of our team.
