Carnegie Mellon University’s Facilities Management & Campus Services department is searching for a Shuttle/Escort Driver to join the team! This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for operating shuttle buses and multi-passenger vans on both predetermined routes making stops at designated locations and on call-out to student residences within an approximate one and one-half mile radius of campus, or between any university buildings, including university off-campus housing. Core responsibilities include: Safety and security of passengers by immediately reporting any criminal or suspicious activity, including any incidents when passenger(s) create a disturbance, pose a threat to others, and request medical assistance for ill or injured passengers Reporting hazardous road conditions and any traffic citations, violations, or incidents Safely operating escort bus or other assigned vehicle while on duty, including conducting a visual and physical inspection of the assigned vehicle before, during, and at the end of the shift. Refueling and cleaning the interior of the vehicle as needed, and immediately report any maintenance problems or concerns Following all required traffic laws as contained in Title 18, The PA Vehicle Code, and all Federal DOT regulations and requirements for CDL operators Maintaining constant direct contact with and follow all instructions and directions from the Transportation Manager Following all established routes, and staying in sync with all established department guidelines, rules, and protocols Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University.
