Assists patrons with finding library materials, recommending titles, locating library materials at other branches and placing requests. Provides preliminary, quick or ready reference assistance, referring in-depth research to librarians on duty or for call back. Provides assistance and instruction to patrons using the IndyPL website and digital collection, computers, printers or using other equipment, and downloading library apps. Assists patrons with job applications and resumes, utilizing online job search functions. Assists Librarians in collection maintenance, including weeding, ordering materials from other branches, and finding and evaluating items for pull lists, transfer lists, zero circ., etc. Informs patrons of library policies and procedures; observes patron activity. Records and reports statistics related to tasks including reference assistance, use of materials, program attendance and community contacts. Acts as person-in-charge, as needed. Assists with displays to promote the collection. Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position. Able to cope with daily job-related stress.
